We are steadfast in our commitment to walk with First Nations people on a journey to a fair and just future’ is the message we had for our colleagues and participants following the failed Referendum on an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice in September 2023.
Reconciliation Australia has since approved our Reconciliation Action Innovate Plan, and we have submitted our Stretch RAP for 2025-2027.
Launch of First Nations Cultural Integrity Training
A major milestone for Wellways reconciliation action was the launch of the First Nations Cultural Integrity training. It’s first session was held at the Wellways annual First Nations Summit on Nywaigi country in tropical North Queensland.
The training has been developed by the Wellways Learning and Development team guided by the National Reconciliation Action Officer, Jamie-Lee Lalic and other First Nations team members from across our regions.
The training was workshopped The attending First Nations Caucus members were joined by allies from the People and Culture team to run the First Nations Cultural Integrity Training, which is being rolled out across Wellways to all team members.
