Carers in need of short-term stay options for their care recipient have greater access to planned and 24-hour emergency respite via Carer Gateway.
Wellways has introduced a new and improved registration and referral process for respite providers. This direct referral system streamlines the referral process, making it easier for providers to receive respite referrals and update their information, and gives carers more say in the respite they choose.
Carer Gateway Respite Provider Benefits
As a registered Carer Gateway respite provider:
- You will receive direct respite referrals from Wellways
- All payments will come directly from Wellways
- No fees are payable by you
- Your information will be distributed to carers to enable them to have choice and control when accessing respite services
- You will have a dedicated Wellways business partner to assist you with compliance requirements, facilitate referrals and help to inform carers of your services
Please note: carers who do not nominate their preferred provider, will be referred to a third-party broker.
To receive Carer Gateway respite referrals, respite providers must be registered with Carer Gateway.

Translation services and resources

TIS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is accessible from anywhere in Australia for the cost of a local call on 131 450. TIS can translate in more than 150 languages.
