About the program
The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program program can help you achieve the skills you need to live a good life by developing day to day skills that will help in your recovery, such as:
- Develop social skills and friendships
- Build relationships with family
- Manage money
- Build skills and qualifications
- Develop work goals
- build confidence and resilience
- Access the NDIS
Whatever your situation, background, cultural needs, or individual preferences, you’ll be respected and heard. You can expect one on one support with a dedicated recovery worker, and an individual recovery plan that is tailored for you.
Who can access the program
The program is designed to support individuals 16 and over, living in the Darling Downs, Lockyer Valley and Western Downs regions of Queensland who:
- Are living with a mental health challenge.
- Feel as though they cannot cope and need help.
- Would like to talk to someone who understands them.
- Are not receiving similar psychosocial supports through a state or territory government program or the NDIS.
Service Location
Our recovery workers can visit your home, meet you for a coffee or you can come to our office.

Commonwealth Psychosocial Support Program is a free service provided by Wellways, funded by the Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network on behalf of the Australian Government.
